Interior Painting

We’ve been painting homes across HRM since 2014. If you’re looking for someone to handle the inside of your house, here’s what working with us looks like. For exterior work, full home makeovers, or our complete service area, head to Painters Halifax.

Call or text: (902) 510-0760. Free quotes. Licensed and insured. We show up when we say we will.

What’s Included

Prep work (this is where most painters cut corners.)

We spend about half the project on prep. Walls get washed to remove grease, dust, and whatever the last person left behind. We patch holes, cracks, and nail pops – the stuff you only notice after the paint’s on. Everything gets sanded so the new paint actually sticks. Stains and repairs are primed so they don’t bleed through. Trim gaps get caulked so the finished job looks seamless, not slapped together.

Materials we use.

Benjamin Moore, Sherwin-Williams, and Dulux. Low-VOC and zero-VOC options if you’ve got kids, pets, or just don’t want to smell paint for a week. We use proper primers for plaster, stained wood, or anything that’s been painted ten times already – because skimping on primer is how you end up repainting in two years.

How we paint.

Trim gets brushed by hand. No tape lines, no overspray in your living room. Walls are rolled properly so you don’t see lap marks when the light hits. Edges are cut in clean. And we clean up daily — your house is still your house while we work.

Before we leave.

Outlet covers, switch plates, and door handles go back on. We walk through with you to catch anything we missed. Touch-ups get handled on the spot. And the workmanship is covered for two years.

Specific Jobs We Handle Inside

Kitchen cabinets

If your cabinets are solid but the colour is stuck in 1998, we strip, sand, prime, and spray-finish them. The result looks factory – no brush marks. We take the hardware off and put it back on when we’re done.

Trim, baseboards, and crown moulding

Hand-brushed finish. Caulked first so there’s no gap between trim and wall. We fix damaged pieces before painting so you’re not just painting over rot.

Ceilings

Popcorn removal and smooth finish. Matching texture where there’s been a repair. Blocking stains from old leaks or smoke so they don’t come back through the new paint.

Drywall repair

Holes, cracks, water damage. We match the texture so you can’t tell it was ever there. Then we paint.

Accent walls or feature finishes

One bold wall. Colour blocking. If you want something specific, we can talk it through and figure out what works.

Halifax Homes Are Different

We’ve painted enough houses in HRM to know the local stuff matters. Old plaster walls are common on the peninsula and in older Dartmouth – they need different prep than drywall. Coastal humidity messes with dry times and adhesion, so we adjust our process accordingly. Cold rooms in winter, like garages and sunrooms, need timing that we know from experience. And salt air wears things down faster even inside, so we use products that actually hold up.
We’ve worked in Bedford, Dartmouth, Sackville, Cole Harbour, Tantallon, Eastern Passage, Timberlea, and Hammonds Plains.

How It Actually Goes

First, we come look at the job. No charge, no pressure. You show us what you want, we ask the questions that matter. Then you get a written quote – labour, materials, timeline, total price. Fixed. Not a starting point that creeps up later. Prep comes next. We move and cover furniture, fix surfaces, clean, sand, and prime. Then we paint with good products, applied properly, and we clean up every day so you’re not living in a construction zone.
Before we leave, we walk through together. You point out anything that needs touching up, and we handle it right then.
Same process whether it’s one room or the whole house.

Questions We Get Asked

How long does a room take?
Most single rooms run one to two days including dry time. Bigger jobs get a clear timeline upfront.

Do I need to move everything out?
We move and cover the furniture. You just clear off the personal stuff – photos, breakables, that kind of thing.

Will it smell?
Low-VOC and zero-VOC paints keep it minimal. We ventilate well. Most people are fine staying in the house while we work.

Can you match what I already have?
Yes. We colour-match and test it under your actual lighting before committing to the full job.

How do I book?
Call or text (902) 510-0760, or fill out the form. We usually get back within a few hours, always within 24.
