Ron Cann started painting houses in 1994. Thirty years later, he still shows up to every job site. Not to check on the crew – to work. That’s the difference between a painting company and a painting business.
Painters Halifax opened in 2014. Before that, Ron spent two decades learning every surface, every product, and every mistake you can make in Halifax weather. Salt air eats paint. Freeze-thaw cracks caulking. Humidity bubbles drywall. You don’t learn that from a manual. You learn it from repainting the same waterfront deck three times until you get it right.
We are a small team. On any given job, you’re working with Ron or someone he’s trained personally. We don’t subcontract. We don’t send a sales guy to quote and a random crew to paint. The person who walks through your door for the estimate is the person who picks up the brush.
Our process is boring because it works. Prep first. Tape second. Paint third. We don’t skip steps to finish faster. We don’t use cheap paint to pad margins. We use Benjamin Moore and Sherwin-Williams because we’ve tested everything else and those two survive Halifax winters.
What we paint:
– Interior walls, ceilings, trim, and doors
– Exterior siding, trim, doors, and decks
– Kitchen cabinets – sprayed finish, not brushed
– Stucco, brick, and siding
– Drywall repair and popcorn ceiling removal
– Garage floors with epoxy coating
– Commercial offices, warehouses, and retail spaces
We serve Halifax Regional Municipality and surrounding areas. That means Bedford, Lower Sackville, Cole Harbour, Hammonds Plains, Tantallon, Timberlea, Eastern Passage, and everywhere in between. We don’t go to Windsor. We don’t go to Truro. We know our range and we stick to it.
Our warranty is two years. Not because the paint will fail in two years – because if we did something wrong, it shows up in the first eighteen months. Peeling, bubbling, cracking. That’s on us. Fading from sun exposure is normal wear. We tell you the difference upfront so there’s no argument later.
Pricing is straightforward. We quote by the job, not by the hour. You get a fixed number before we start. If we find rot or water damage during prep, we stop and tell you. No surprise charges at the end.
We’re licensed, insured, and registered with WCB Nova Scotia. If someone falls off a ladder on your property, that’s our problem, not yours.
If you want to know whether we’re the right fit, read the reviews. Or call and ask for Ron. He’ll tell you if your job is something we should handle or if you need a specialist. We’ve turned down work before. We’d rather lose a job than do a bad one.
Call (902) 510-0760 or fill out the form on the contact page. We return calls within 24 hours. Estimates are free and take about 30 minutes.
