Lower Sackville sits near the head of Bedford Basin, about 27 km from downtown Halifax and 18 km from downtown Dartmouth, with Highways 101 and 102 and Sackville Drive running through it. Intensive suburban growth began in the 1970s, helped by new highway connections and a Nova Scotia Housing Commission development scheme, and the community joined Halifax Regional Municipality in 1996. It is possible. Health Canada guidance ties the likelihood of lead-based paint to a home’s age, with homes built before 1960 the most likely to have it, and exterior paint in homes built before 1980 can also be a concern. Disturbing it by dry sanding or scraping can create hazardous dust. If your home’s age raises the question, mention it at your estimate so the prep can be planned around it, and consider having the paint tested first.
Can you refinish my kitchen cabinets instead of replacing them?
